Ok let’s start the story of our last trip with my little family. We went to Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali, located in Jimbaran Bali, Indonesia.
It was only a 15-minute drive south from Bali’s airport and is so nice for the kids because Jimbaran beach has some of the safest swimming beaches in Bali.
It was our second time staying at Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali, the resort is integrated to Samasta Lifestyle Village, less than 5-minutes walk from the centre of Jimbaran and has the best professionally-managed kids club and diverse family activities.
If you’re using MyResorts, you will get MyHost benefits – a personal concierge assigned to Gold members to help you plan a perfect stay.
After check-in, your MyHost will assist you to your room and explain your upcoming activities. MyResorts offers a MyUpgrade, where you can access an ‘upgrade’ by personalising your hotel room’s set-up. Ours was Family Extension and the kids were thrilled to find their room beautifully decorated and toys to play with. They were super excited and happily bounced all over the room.
What we love about Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali was the vast pool area with child-friendly facilities including a toddler pool, a flume and playground for bigger kids and a sprawling main pool complete with a swim-up bar for adults to float in lazily. The nearby Meera Kids Club also provided babysitting.
Below I share an example of the itinerary Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali prepared for us, with our main focus on MyKids, MyGlass, MyExtraTime.
DAY 1
12.00pm – Sunday Family Jazz Brunch Experience at Anarasa Restaurant.
Anarasa Restaurant brings a variety of Swiss and Peruvian signature gastronomy with a reimagined concept that features live music and more interactive cooking stations, creating fun-filled culinary occasions for the whole family. Available every Sunday from 12pm to 4pm. You can enjoy food from the local neighbourhood to internationally influenced ala carte menus.
6.00pm – In-Room Dining Experience
This is a dining experience with international favourites and signature dishes from the restaurants, including their specialty “Nasi Goreng Bali”, consisting of Balinese style fried rice, sunny set up, sate lilit, pickles, and chicken drumstick.
We spent our first day exploring the resort, the pool, the Meera Kids Club and went to Jimbaran beach to watch the stunning sunset. It was only a short 5-minute walk or convenient beach shuttle from the hotel.
DAY 2
7.00am – Breakfast experience at Anarasa Restaurant.
Anarasa Restaurant is an urban style restaurant for breakfast. Anarasa faces the tropical garden and offers a wide array of Asian delicacies, as well as a children zone. My daughters loved the special children’s buffet featuring fun dishes that are also fresh and nutritious. Ingredients are cut into quirky shapes and presented with child-friendly crockery.
8.00am – Cultural Journey for MyDiscovery Experience.
As part of our MyResorts program, this is one of the activities we booked online. At Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali you can get together and learn more about the neighbourhood of Jimbaran by joining half-day Family Cultural Journey activity.
We visited Kedonganan fish market to see the fisherman’s traditional village. The journey continued by learning how to play Balinese music called Rindik, a Balinese Traditional Dance and Balinese Food Cooking Class. We also took some special family photos in our Balinese traditional costume.
11.00am – Balinese Cooking Class
This was so fun! We learned with our Chef how to cook 4-course Balinese Traditional dishes, such as: Sate lilit, Lawar, Chicken Tum and Sambal Matah (my favourite). My daughters prepared almost all of the food, while I only helped a little bit. I was so proud to see them learning how to cook and succeed.
1.30pm – Lunch experience at Anarasa Restaurant
After we finished cooking class, we enjoyed all of the food for lunch. My husband and I pretended to be the judges in MasterChef, and gave compliments to our daughters for cooking us yummy lunch. It was really an unforgettable experience.
2.00pm – Swimming time
The swimming pool is a massive lagoon set amongst magnificent gardens. The water temperature was great and not cold. There was also a life guard on every corner and part of the swimming pool had a sandy beach too. My daughters loved the waterslides and if your kid is still toddler-age, the resort also has smaller pool for the little ones. Our room had easy access to the pool. Insider Tip: I recommend to book a room that has pool access.
4.00pm – Day of leisure to enjoy MyGlass Experience at Katha Lounge.
Another fun experience you can book from MyResorts is MyGlass. Join the fun with your kids and indulge in a memorable beverage experience in a one time pina colada mocktail class session at the Katha Lobby Lounge, with a view over breathtaking Jimbaran bay.
The Katha Lobby Lounge is an upscale place where guests can relax by sipping on a specialty coffee or dipping into the fragrances of international tea specialties whilst enjoying afternoon tea.
My daughters were so excited as first timers making D.I.Y drinks. They not only enjoyed the holiday but had really fun learning experiences. And most importantly as parents, we could relax in the lounge.
DAY 3
8am – Breakfast Experience at Mövenpick Café.
The Mövenpick Cafe is a modern lifestyle cafe located in the middle of Samasta Lifestyle Village.
We loved the Swiss-style artisanal signature ice cream available in 12 different flavours. Or you can choose a decadent pastry to accompany your perfectly roasted Mövenpick coffee.
9.30am – MyKids experience at Meera Kids Club.
Meera Kids Club is a two-story area designed with a fun pirate theme and is certified as a professional child care centre by Worldwide Kid’s Club City and Guilds London. My daughters loved the big playground so much and didn’t want to leave.
Pampering my daughters with MyKids experience was fun. We could choose 2 special activities in the list of; gangsing painting, ice cream sandwich making, muffin making & baking, treasure hunt, milkshake making, t-shirt painting, canvas bag painting, keramik painting, face painting, pool party, pizza making, ice hunting, van painting, jewellery making, kite making, pajamas party or hair braiding.
Our girls picked muffin making, baking and canvas bag painting. After they finished, they could take one gift such as: t-shirt, cap, or water bottle. Meera Kids Club also provided sport activities, including; children aerobics, yoga, stretching, as well as cultural activities.
12.00pm – Experience MyResort’s MyWellness at Arkipela Spa & Wellness.
I was pampered with a 60-minutes Melt Me Softly treatment to refresh my mind and body, including a 30-minutes back massage, followed with 30 minutes body polish. The Melt Me Softly treatment is also available for your kids. But to be honest, you should enjoy it with your partner. They have a beautiful couples room.
Arkipela Spa & Wellness offers guests exclusive bespoke treatments from the heart using only fresh local ingredients, such as a selection of massage oil, honey and milk. All the ingredients are suitable for relaxing your body and nourishing and softening your skin.
4.00pm – Chocolate Hour experience at Anarasa Restaurant.
You can enjoy sweet treats during the Chocolate Hour in all Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts worldwide. Switzerland being famous for its chocolate, Mövenpick dedicates one hour in the afternoon to an exquisite tasting experience with Mövenpick’s chocolate variations and homemade creations such as éclairs, brownies, truffles, chocolate fountains and much more!
7.00pm – Dinner experience at Above Eleven Rooftop Bar & Restaurant.
Above Eleven Rooftop Bar & Restaurant is Indonesia’s first park-themed rooftop bar & restaurant serving up breathtaking views of the island, an incredible cocktail menu and a perfect blend of Peruvian Japanese food. Located on the rooftop of the resort, the best time to visit is during sunset so you can enjoy the view of Jimbaran Bay from rooftop.
DAY 4
8.00am – Breakfast at Anarasa Restaurant.
It was our last day in Bali, so we had our breakfast and chilled around the resort soaking up every last minute. Of course I couldn’t stop taking photos in the beautiful scenery. I think every corner of the resort will capture your best moment in Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali. We spent our holiday mostly inside the hotel, but we definitely enjoyed a lot of activities. Thanks to MyResorts, all our activities and special benefits were booked with one easy click.
And not to forget we also had our MyExtraTime. Usually check-out time is 12 pm, but if you book with MyResorts, you can have early check-in or late check-out. Our flight was around 5.00pm and the airport was only 15 minutes away. I used MyExtraTime to rest, while the kids had some extra swimming time.
You can also use your time with MyConnect to enjoy complimentary high speed internet, i.e. watching movies, downloading music or posting your holiday photos and videos. You don’t need to worry about slow internet here.
That’s all from our incredible Bali family getaway at Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali!
