BALI WITH KIDS: FUN THINGS TO DO IN BALI WITH KIDS
SUNDAYS AT KU DE TA, SEMINYAK

Ku De Ta offer a family day on Sunday mornings from 9am through to 12pm. Kids in Bali can swim in the pool, which has a great shallow section, use the jumping castle, get their face painted or get creative with the free arts and craft activities. The food menu includes kids breakfast and lunch and lots of share options for the whole family, including pizzas and sushi. The beach is right out front, so you can also go for a dip in the ocean.
TAC Tip: This is a great morning activity for the whole family. Put your feet up on a daybed with ocean views and cool summer beats, while the kids in Bali are entertained by the children’s magician for free. If you’ve already had breakfast at your hotel or villa, simply buy a coffee or juice!

AMPLITUDE SKATE PARK, KEROBOKAN

Amplitude is a Skate Park and Bike Racing Pump Track located in Kerobokan. The Skate Park has a bowl that is 270cm deep the Pump Track is the first of its kind in Indonesia. There is a newly built section that is separate from the larger pump track and skate bowl, which is perfect for smaller kids in Bali who want to learn to skate or ride scooters. This is currently the best skateboarding facility in all of Bali and it’s great for both advanced and beginner skaters.
TAC Tip: It’s best to go to Amplitude early morning or late afternoon as it does get very hot on the grounds as there is no shade and always remember to bring your helmet or you can hire one from the park. Lessons are available for kids in Bali.

MILK AND MADU, CANGGU

Milk and Madu is our favourite café for kids in Bali. This beautiful little cafe has a casual and relaxed vibe and is great for breakfast, lunch or dinner. It is housed under a traditional open structure and has an enclosed garden area for the kids to run around. The food is delicious, gourmet café food and they do a great kids menu and offer free baby chinos as well as kids toys and colouring in activities. On Sunday afternoons they have family activities such a face painting, balloons and sometimes a jumping castle or arts and crafts.
TAC Tip: If you’ve saved a bit of room for dessert, right across the road is the best Gelato in town. Gelato Secrets offer artisanal italian gelato and sorbetto made fresh in Bali with natural ingredients.

WATERBOM BALI

When you enter the elegant grounds Bali Equestrian Club you will feel like you’ve stepped out of Bali and into the Hamptons. This is the place to go for horse riding at any level, with tiny tot pony rides and day camps for the little ones and horse rides available for the bigger and more experienced. There is a restaurant with a swimming pool that has a great section for small children and a playground that includes a slide, sandpit and cute cubby house that you can use for a small fee. It is a perfect destination for kids in Bali.
TAC Tip: Enjoy an afternoon sipping wine at the restaurant with sweeping views of the main arena, while you can easily supervise the little ones playing on the swings and slide.

SUNDARA BEACH CLUB, JIMBARAN

Five star fun for the whole family. Book a day-bed at Sundara by the 57-metre infinity beachfront pool and your kids will have a choice of swimming in the pool or at one the most beautiful beaches in Bali. There is a Jimba Kids Club 20 metres from your daybed, where the little ones (4-12 years old) can play out of the sun and in the comfort of air-conditioning. The lovely staff will happily supervise your little ones with fun games and activities while you soak up the suns rays with a cocktail in hand.
TAC Tip: If you want to relax pool-side all day this is the perfect family venue. Take some time out of the sun to dine at one of Sundara’s two restaurants.

THE GARDEN EARLY LEARNING, CANGGU

A drop-in learning centre for children aged 2 years to 12 years (children under 2 years must be accompanied by a carer). They do a one-hour minimum stay with no reservations needed and are open 7 days a week! The Garden also offers a music and sensory class for babies aged 6-18 months every Tuesday and Thursday morning.
TAC Tip: Sprout Cafe is in the same building and is one of the only enclosed cafes around with air-con! It has healthy food, great coffee and a small play section perfect for kids in Bali.

KOMUNE BEACH CLUB, KERAMAS

This beautiful resort and beach club is located at Keramas Beach on Bali’s east coast. For those wanting a day trip away from the west coast, Keramas is a 45-minute drive from Canggu/Seminyak. You can pay for a day pass to have entry to the pool overlooking the ocean, the beautiful grounds, the healthy café and the newly built free-range kids “fruit” bowl skate park. The surf break is world famous and Komune have installed floodlights so you can surf under the stars all night.
TAC Tip: Make sure you get there early and grab a day bed, so you can relax and hang poolside with the kids in Bali all day.

BERAWA ART HOUSE, CANGGU

An art studio offering workshops for children and adults. The kid’s classes are great for children interested in developing drawing and painting skills in a creative environment whilst also having fun. Nature, meditation and the ocean inspire the teachers and this is often the foundation for the activities they have the kids doing. They offer classes in the afternoons a few days a week for kids in Bali aged between 4-7 years old and they have a free trial class available. Prices start from US $13 per lesson.
TAC Tip: Check out a little store across the road called Nalu. The founders were 11 and 8 when they started the Nalu Brand. For every 4 products they sell, they give a school uniform to a child who needs one. Our favourite: ‘Let the way you live be the way you give’ tee.

BINGIN BEACH BBQ, BINGIN

Forget the overcrowded and overpriced seafood warnings at Jimbaran Bay and instead enjoy a beautiful and relaxing afternoon on Bingin Beach, one of the best beaches in Bali as well as being home to one of the best surf breaks on the island. The beach is dotted with local warungs offering food and drinks and shelter from the heat, ideal for kids in Bali. The nightly seafood beach BBQs offered by a few of these warungs is the perfect spot to enjoy the fresh seafood catch of the day over a candlelit dinner with the sand between your toes.
TAC Tip: To access the beach, you walk from Bingin carpark along a path that leads down steep steps to the beach. It is a tough climb down and up but we promise it’s worth it. Check out our Bingin accommodation options if you want to spend a few nights here.

MARIA CURAU, CANGGU

Maria Curau is a nail spa overlooking the rice paddies in Pererenan. It is the first vegan, non-toxic and cruelty-free nail spa in Bali and perfect for kids. This is the place to come if you want utter relaxation, not a quick mani and pedi. Unwind with a foot and hand soak in coconut milk, and then while your nails are being painted with Kester Black Vegan nail polish shades, you are given a shoulder massage and a glass of homemade Kombucha. Maria Curau is a unique spa experience and a great place to unwind and relax.
TAC Tip: Try some polka dots, flowers or some geometric shapes for your little ones. You can also purchase beautiful dolls that are handmade by the mothers of the Bali Life Street Centre with all proceeds going to charity.

BEACH SUNSET SESSIONS
There’s no better Bali family fun with your kids in Bali than a casual sunset session on the beach. On Sundays, many local families come down to the beach and swim in the ocean. It’s also the place to get the tastiest and juiciest corn you will ever eat, best indulged with a Bintang or cold coconut. Kick a soccer ball, fly a kite, or throw a frisbee while you take in the famous Bali sunset. TAC Tip: We recommend sitting on La Planca’s colourful beach bean bags in Seminyak, strolling the beach in from of Ku De ta, or if you’re in Canggu our favourite spot is Old Man’s Beach at the end of Batu Bolong.
