Recently, I spent two unbelievable nights at THE EDGE in Uluwatu. It was truly one of the most luxurious and amazing places I have ever stayed in.
I went with my boyfriend and his brother on a surfing trip, so it was relaxing for me, surfing for them. We stayed in a 5-bedroom villa in the resort that had everything you could think of – from a wine cellar to a cinema, EVERYTHING, you name it.
The villa was right on “the edge” of the cliff with the most stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. An inspiring, tranquil, and incredible setting. The bedroom had massive sliding doors that opened up looking out over the cliff with an infinity pool – really stunning. (I have a video on my Instagram @michaelawain. Check it out!)
One of the amazing things about THE EDGE is definitely the service which is just incredible. We were taken so well care of – almost too well if that’s possible!! We had a 24-hour butler, Panda. He was a dream! I wanted to take him home with me! The boys would go out surfing at 6am in the morning. Before their surf Panda would organise them breakfast, meaning the chefs were up at 5am cooking. They would also drive them to the beach for a few hours and pick them up to bring them back to the resort. Nothing was too much trouble, so massive thanks to Panda! We were so spoilt to have him 24/7.
The food at THE EDGE was next level. They have the most remarkable chefs with the most delicious menu to choose from. The produce was fresh, the menu was healthy and the flavours were incredible. The best holidays have the best food, right? Well, it’s all there!
In the mornings, while the boys were surfing, I would sleep in, wake up and message Panda for breakfast. Within 15 minutes I would come out of my room and into the dining room with this massive breakfast all set for me. Fruit, cereal, pastries, eggs, bacon, coffee, fresh juice – everything! The real problem was my morning eyes being much bigger than my stomach! But you’re on holiday, right?
To top off the trip, we had daily massages in their insane Day spa. The whole spa is in ankle deep water, over looking the ocean. I’ve never seen anything like it! It was the perfect treat at the end of the day. Pure luxury in an idyllic setting.
