These little creatures on their way into the ocean for the first time have been looked after by the Sea Turtle Farm & Hatchery in Southern Sri Lanka. This rare species are facing extinction, so after the babies are hatched, they are kept safe from sea predators until they’re strong enough to have a fighting chance in the ocean.
The non-for-profit institution in Habaraduwa is located near the beautiful beach of Galle district and has released more than 500,000 sea turtles into the ocean since 1986. You should definitely stop by or support their project when travelling through Sri Lanka, like Lauren from @gypsea_lust with her boyfriend Jack from @doyoutravel.
