The expansive lawn leading to the infinity pool was a refreshing welcome for myself and the kids, giving them the freedom to run around while still securely kept within the bounds of the villa.
THE LOCATION
Villa The Beji is a luxury villa that lies on the border of Canggu and Berawa, ideal for anyone wanting to venture a little further from the so often beaten track of Seminyak, while getting closer to the oh so very popular hipster jaunts of Canggu. Villa The Beji is still located very close to our tested favourites that we’ve come to love when visiting Bali. Only a 10 min drive further from the central area of Seminyak, the villa is hidden down a small gang that crosses over a moss laden bridge and quaint river into the expands of the 4,000 sqm compound of the luxurious Villa The Beji.
Having flown in from Singapore, the expansive lawn leading to the infinity pool was a refreshing welcome for myself and the kids, giving them the freedom to run around while still securely kept within the bounds of the villa.
VILLA THE BEJI
Villa The Beji has 6 luxurious rooms, separated almost as individual villas, that circle around the grass and pool area. Each villa has all the creature comforts that many of us have come accustomed to in Bali, such as a king size bed draped with decorative yet functional mosquito nets, our daughter firmly told me it was her ‘princess bed’. The rooms are equipped with cable TV, air conditioning and refreshments and open up into a walk in wardrobe and then onto the al fresco bathroom where you can choose between the conventional shower or the luxurious spa bath. We opted for the shower so we could quickly get back outside to enjoy the very attentive and tailored service that met our every need.
Exploring the compounds with a crisp, cold bintang in hand, we were overjoyed at every turn, from the many individual chill out zones relaxing us in to a tectonic state, to the playful kids air-conditioned media room, equipped with activities for all ages. Peeking out the window from the kids room we were delighted to find a tennis court, and being an avid fans, took up the offer on the coaching from the very talented Ronaldo. After working up quite the sweat, we retreated back to the tranquil pool with cool beverages on hand. The pool was much bigger than most villas we have stayed at and we could easily have done morning laps if we weren’t so relaxed.
LUXURY VILLA DINING
Villa The Beji is very well positioned to very quickly catch a taxi to the well-known favourites such as Sarong, Barbacoa or Merah Putih, but is also on the border of Berawa and Canggu where many new dining options have sprouted such as The Slow and Milk and Madu. However, this night we would choose to dine in the villa as the starry evening and huge lawn offered the perfect location for an outdoor feast. 10 of us joined the candlelit dinner and discussed with our newly engaged friends how perfect the villa would be for an intimate wedding and joked if only we had a celebrant at hand so not to waste the intricate floral display, crisp table setting, five-star cuisine and of course the moonlit gardens. We were treated with BBQ meats and a selection of the private chef’s specialty dishes and our stomachs were singing!
LUXURY VILLA ACTIVITIES
The daily activities ranged from full relaxation with massage services direct to your room, to more activity driven days such as pool time with the kids, tennis, and trampolining and that’s before we even considered leaving the villa. Situated very close to the beaches of Berawa and Canggu, it is an ideal villa for the surfer that wants to feel confident that his family will be happy to either let him take off for a quick session leaving the surf widow behind to be pampered or to bring the family with him to make full use of the famous Echo Beach.
The other option neighbouring next to the Villa The Beji is the newly renovated Finns Recreational Club that boasts 4 world class water slides and other water activities designed for younger kids. Using the membership cards on hand at the villa, and only a 2 minute walk, we went and indulged in the hotel/theme park facilities of the Finns Club and gave the kids a day they will not forget, my only tip is to leave the club until the last day as a reward for good behaviour, it also means the kids won’t hound you to go back there every day.
OUR VILLA THE BEJI EXPERIENCE
The Beji is truly an exceptional villa and well worth consideration for a larger group with or without children. Especially if you are used to the comfort zone of the well-known and established accommodation in Seminyak, Villa The Beji allows you to venture a little further, to discover some new gems in Bali while still having your well-known creature comforts only an arm’s length away.
The friendly staff go above and beyond to personalise your experience at the villa, providing you daily with your own private driver, tailoring menus to suit everyone’s dietary requirements, and are always on hand to hold and play with your kids so you can truly relax during meal time in the company of great friends and family.
Villa The Beji is definitely one of the most luxurious villas in Canggu and wins our vote for being one of the best family villas in Bali.
