Sundays Beach Club is nestled in a hidden haven of Uluwatu and is your own private slice of heaven. If you haven’t been to Sundays before (hop to it!) they are renowned for their chilled-out beachside ethos, if they hadn’t already stepped up the beach club game enough with their delectable fare, cocktail pitchers and blissful blue bean bags, Sundays has added to the luxury of their breezy beach club experience with the unveiling of their new VIP Beach Bungalows. We were lucky enough to experience the VIP Beach Bungalows with a luxurious spa treatment and a romantic dinner by the sea, plus spending the hours in between at Sundays Beach Club the best way we know how!
VIP BEACH BUNGALOWS
Each VIP Beach Bungalow comes with your own personal butler (yes you heard us right), an unimaginable beachfront view, plush daybeds and your own private bathroom and shower, we seriously didn’t think Sunday’s could get any better – but our experience in the VIP Beach Bungalows for the day proved us wrong!
SPA BY THE SEA
We started our day off with a dreamy stroll through The Ungasan‘s pristinely groomed grounds, slowly making our way down to the inclinator where we caught a glimpse above the clifftops of what our day was about to entail. A slow but steep cascade down the cliff-front in the open-air inclinator will take your breath away and if that doesn’t, the serene view sure will. Once getting to the bottom we were greeted by aquamarine waters, balmy palms and glistening sands, plus the smiling Sundays Beach Club staff in their super cute aqua and white tropic-themed uniforms (just adding to this tropical-esque experience)!
We were guided to our own private spa cabana where we would soon have our indulgent 60-minute massage. After changing in the private bathroom we dove into a sweet blissful escape, with an entire 60 minutes of absolute relaxation listening to the waves crashing against the shore – undeniably the best way to have a massage in Bali! Treat yourself to a range of luxurious spa treatments from the Vela Spa menu in this stunning beachfront location.
SUNDAYS BEACH CLUB
Of course, we couldn’t help but indulge for the day and spend our hours in between being beached on our VIP day beds and lapping up the sunshine while consuming our weight in Sunday’s mouthwatering cocktail concoctions and bites. Don’t worry boys there’s an endless supply of ice-cold Bintangs for you!
The Guacamole is the perfect beachside snack during the day before heading to your Romantic Dinner (make sure you don’t fill up, as there’s plenty of food coming your way!) The guac is topped with grilled corn, fresh herbs and crunchy corn chips – Bon Appetit! Sundays Beach Club also supplies a range of water sport activities so whatever takes your fancy, a paddle, a surf, a snorkel – there’s something for everyone to explore the surrounding crystal clear water and rock pools.
DATE NIGHT
For the lovebirds… enjoy a Romantic Dinner tailored for two with pristine views out across the Indian Ocean and scattered rose petals throughout – the ultimate proposal location if we say so ourselves! The menus are creatively hand-crafted by Australian Executive Chef, Josh Tyler, Josh creatively fuses local Balinese ingredients and products with unique flavour combinations to deliver an exciting menu which is both progressive and innovative. Five delectable courses arrived at our table, with wines perfectly paired to each course, for a starter we were served the House Baked Rye with Cultured Butter and a delicious Pear and Blue Cheese Cigar which was paired with a bubbly Australian Chandon! Next up was an extra fresh Yellowfin Tuna and Avocado Togorashi Bowl paired with an Australian Sauvignon Blanc – we were well and truly off to a mouthwatering start.
After a short break, we were served a Pinot Grigio from Italy which arrived the same time as our next course, ocean-fresh Handpicked Crab served with Creamed Eggs and Burnt Butter, our tastebuds ignited over this delectable flavour combo! The larger meal was a Beef Striploin served delectably tender with Asparagus, Potato Fondant and a delicious buttery emulsion, plus a Margaret River Shiraz from Australia. To end our drool-worthy five-course degustation dessert was served, a combo of Salted Coconut Sorbet and Mango and Lime and Lemon Fool, with our final drink for the evening a Frizzante Moscato (which we had down by the bonfire on the beach.) With each dish, we could see the passion and creativity put into them with each flavour uniquely complimenting the other. This experience is one of the best culinary experiences in Bali and right by the beachside, book in a romantic dinner for two for your next date night!
BEACH BONFIRES
After hanging out at the beach club for the day we were guided into our private VIP Bungalows for our Romantic Dinner for the evening, but the fun didn’t stop there, after a delicious dessert we headed down to the beachside for a classic Sundays Beach Club bonfire, listening to the crackling wood and the crashing waves finished our night off perfectly. The staff at Sunday’s Beach Club made our day and evening by the sea one not to be forgotten, this is the best way to experience what Bali has to offer, we could quite easily indulge in a few seaside massages and Josh Tyler’s delectable fare any day of the week! If Sundays Beach Club isn’t already on your must-hit Bali bucket-list, pull out your pen and write this one down, you can’t go to Bali without visiting Sundays.
***Sundays Beach Club individual VIP Beach Bungalows can be booked daily from 9 am to 10 pm and accommodate up to 8 guests. Guests will enjoy 2 bottles of complimentary Chandon Sparkling Wine, dedicated butler, allocated day beds and more. For special occasions or get-togethers, the bungalows can be booked for Group Dinners or Cocktail Parties for up to 20 guests.
