Peppers Seminyak was a brilliant family getaway without the McDonalds style menu of some of the unnamed global chains on the other side of the island.
If you’re looking for a luxury private villa experience but with the amenities of a 5-star hotel, then say hello to Peppers Seminyak.
Whether you’re on your honeymoon, travelling with a group of friends, or a family with young kids, Peppers has you covered with their selection of 1-5 bedroom private pool villas.
LOCATION
Peppers is located in the heart of Seminyak, with one exit taking you straight to Seminyak beach, and the other popping you out close to the buzzing Oberoi strip full of trendy cafes and boutique retail shops. But as soon as you step back into the lush and beautifully manicured grounds of the property, you slip into the peaceful oasis of Peppers which is silent and removed from the bustling streets.
PEPPERS SEMINYAK AESTHETIC
Peppers Seminyak has beautiful private villas each designed with their own individual theme. We were fortunate enough to stay in the 3 bedroom presidential pool villa, which was flawless. Each bedroom came with a dreamy four-poster king size bed, TV, and private outdoor bathtub and shower which were so photogenic, even your parents will be pulling out their phones to take a photo. The kitchen highlights an open living plan with a fully equipped kitchen, stunning lounge decor and another massive TV. We had a private 10m pool and cabana which had the right amount of sun and shade through out the day, perfect for tanning and day time naps in your swimsuit. I also learnt the villas which are already in top condition are getting a design makeover one-by-one, so I’m looking forward to seeing the new interiors 🙂
PEPPERS SEMINYAK SERVICE
The staff were so friendly and helpful, from the big smiles of the front desk concierge, to the room service staff and waiters in the restaurant. The stand out for me was when I ordered 1 glass of red wine to our villa, the friendly bapak brought in a few selections for me to taste first like my own private semillier. It truly was exceptional service.
SPA @ PEPPERS SEMINYAK
Spa at Peppers is huge and has the most stunning interior I’ve ever seen, including a big enchanted indoor tree as high as the ceiling. I opted for their signature Hot Stone Massage which blew my mind. The stones at times were so hot it took my breath away, but they were moved along quickly enough in swift strokes to create a hot then cold sensation as they moved up and down my back and in circular motions around my kidneys. The treatment goes for 90 minutes, and at 650K Rupiah (less than US$50) is an absolute bargain. I walked in with 50 things on my mind and walked out in total bliss.
PEPPERS SEMINYAK, BREAKFAST @ THE LANEWAY
The breakfast at The Laneway is delicious and healthy. Instead of over indulging in an all-you-can eat buffet, you order a la carte to your personalised wants and tastes with a wide choice of colourful fruits, yoghurts, bircher muesli, croissants and juices from their breakfast bar to add as garnish to their wonderful mains. Less is so much more when it comes to a fresh and delicious breakfast, and the love from the kitchen is visible when your meal arrives on your table. You can also order the same breakfast in your villa which is delivered by the friendly room service staff.
PEPPERS SEMINYAK, DINNER @ THE LANEWAY
We opted to have dinner at The Laneway on our last night. The restaurant was quiet but dimly lit and romantic. The pulled pork slider with Asian coleslaw was worthy of a mouth-gasm. It was dripping with flavour and had the perfect amount of a spicy kick to make us order another serving.
For our main course, we ordered the cumin spiced lamb cutlets with eggplant, caponata, and pesto, and the Balinese red duck with apple eggplant, galangal, kaffa lime leaves and rice.
For dessert we shared with chocolate hazelnut semi-freddo and the cinnamon donut with cream, dark chocolate and strawberry jam. Our bellies were exploding but very happy.
PEPPERS SEMINYAK WITH CHILDREN
Whilst they don’t advertise themselves as a family resort, they cater perfectly for children, which can be a more appealing choice for parents who don’t want to stay in a commercial hotel.
We were travelling with our 3 year old daughter and 4 month old son. The friendly staff had a beautiful portable cot ready for us when we arrived, set up with fresh bedding and a mosquito net. Our daughter slept in her very own four-poster bed and felt like a princess. Because she was in her own room removed from ours, we brought our baby monitor with us in case she got a fright overnight. We also locked her bedroom door from the outside, just in case she decided to go for a night walk and accidentally fell in the pool.
For families travelling with young children, you can hire a temporary safety pool fence from Bali Villa Pool Fence to give you that extra peace of mind. We were fortunate our oldest can swim, although still with supervision of course, and our youngest is not on the move yet. Peppers also have high-chairs for those who need it, and a healthy kids menu.
All in all, Peppers Seminyak was a brilliant family getaway without the McDonalds style menu of some of the unnamed global chains on the other side of the island.
