MUNDUK MODING PLANTATION

Situated north of Bali amidst lush rainforests and endless rolling hills lies Munduk Moding Plantation, a sustainable eco-luxury resort high above the clouds in Bali’s idyllic countryside. Offering spectacular infinity pool views to the coast and Java’s volcanoes, Munduk Moding Plantation attracts those looking for a cozy, quiet and authentic getaway unique to the rest of what Bali is used to.

The area is not to be missed too, with mountain treks, lake views, stunning waterfalls and local temples just waiting to be discovered. Just two hours from Ngurah Rai Airport, you’ll find the eco-luxury resort and all its natural beauty awaits. So pack your camera and a light sweater (it gets colder up here!) for an unforgettable experience at Munduk Moding Plantation.

THE MUNDUK MODING PLANTATION PHILOSOPHY

Founded by a Dutch family who fell in love with the region, Munduk Moding Plantation was created to protect the area’s natural beauty and cultural heritage. Years since the resort was born, the philosophy remains unchanged with sustainable tourism both environmentally and economically in place.

Take the Munduk Moding Plantation team for example, which consists of 100 percent Balinese staff with an impeccable attention to detail. Their wildlife and vegetation remains abundant, with organic coffee beans, fruits, vegetables, and herbs growing and thriving in its natural backyard.

VILLAS & SUITES

Munduk Moding Plantation consists of nine spacious villas and three suites designed by award winning Bali architect Popo Danes, who carefully combines traditional Balinese designs with a contemporary touch. With a limited amount of accommodation guarantees an intimate experience within the resort. Be prepared to be wowed by the resort’s panoramic scene of unspoilt beauty, seamlessly integrating within its natural surroundings.

For us, it was like a dream during our time at Munduk Moding Plantation. Opening our curtains revealed glass windows surrounding the room and greeted us with the endless lush jungle views as our private backyard. With flower baths, outdoor shower and luxury amenities, Munduk Moding Plantation has it all.

MIMPI RESTAURANT

The MiMPi Restaurant at Munduk Moding Plantation offers a variety of cuisines such as Balinese, Indonesian, and Western fusion options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Our favorite pick is indulging into western breakfast consisting of fresh homemade jam, bread basket, yogurt, and scrambled eggs on toast, while overlooking the iconic infinity pool and idyllic view. For dinner, we suggest trying their daily special as listed before adventuring out to the bonfire for a cozy time under the stars.

Of course, the famous “kopi-luak” here is a must try!

EXPERIENCING MUNDUK MODING PLANTATION

Countless of daily activities are available at Munduk Moding Plantation, just check their daily schedule on the front desk if you’re up for an adventure, or to learn something new! From bird watching at the break of dawn, to leisurely guided tours of the plantation and movie nights, the list is endless.

We spent our days at Munduk Moding Plantation lounging around the pool and exploring the stunning property. On rainy afternoons, lazy naps and cheeky game of billiards or ping pong will do the trick. Or, indulge in Munduk Moding Plantation’ out-of-the world spa to unwind and de-stress. With heated massage beds (so necessary in this slightly cooler climate in Bali’s north!) to soothing oils and the view of the outside fog rolling across the resort, this will be sure to disconnect from all your responsibilities and restore your mind, body, and soul.

When travelling to Bali, you may immediately think of luxurious beach clubs or stylish cafes. But we urge you to take the road less travelled and venture up to find yourself the authentic side of Bali that lives on.
